Review : I read a book called Four Children and It written by Jacqueline Wilson. It’s a fiction book inspired by the book Five Children and It written by E Nesbit in 1902. The story is about four children, Rosalind, Robbie, Smash and Maudie. They go on a family picnic to Oxshott Woods where they find a magical Sand fairy called the Psammead and every day it grants them one wish. Only there is one problem – the wishes always finish at sunset. This sometimes gets them in trouble.

The writing style was easy to read and the story was narrated by one of the kids, Rosalind. The author was fascinated by the book Five Children and It and decided to write another book more than a century after the 1st was published. This story is set in the year 2012. Rosalind, being the book worm, has read Five Children and It, and knows most things about Psammead and his wishes.

I enjoyed the book so much that I got engrossed in it and their world. As I came towards the end of the book I wanted it to last a bit longer and if the Psammead really existed, that would be my day one’s wish! The best thing about this book was that even though some situations were not so perfect, everything worked out well in the end and we all like happy endings.

I recommend this book to all of you, kids and adults, because these kids will entertain all ages! I liked the book a lot and think of writing another one, Three Children and It. As I always give a star rating to the book I review, this book gets a 9 out of 10 stars!
